It seems that I'm not the only one doing talismanic work lately. RO put up a post yesterday describing his own recent efforts in that regard around the time I was putting this one together over the weekend. The ritual described here has a lot in common with my Venus elixir ritual that I put together for the transit of Venus last June. The reason that I decided to go for Venus again had a lot to do with my studies of traditional astrology, in that a particularly favorable Venus election manifested last Friday morning during the first hour of the day. So it entailed rising early, which I'm not particularly fond of doing, but I'm expecting that the talisman itself will prove potent enough to justify the loss of sleep.
Venus is not just associated with love spells, which I'm not in need of at the moment, even though that's the most common sort of Venus rite most magicians perform and such rituals do work quite well. The state of consciousness associated with the planet is "the vision of beauty triumphant" and in traditional astrology the planet is considered the lesser benefic, the greater benefic being Jupiter. Venus is also associated with art, creativity, and aesthetic virtue in addition to this sort of general good fortune. I won't reveal the exact nature of the charge here as the talisman itself represents an ongoing operation, but its influence is intended to fall within those areas rather than the realm of love and relationships.
Because the nature of the talisman is generalized, the angel of Venus is conjured rather than the intelligence or spirit. The intelligence of a planet is best for Theurgic rituals intended to induce particular states of consciousness or obtain information about the divine realm or for protection, while the spirit is best for obtaining specific practical objectives - the more specific the better. This contradicts Agrippa's statement that the "intelligence is for good and the spirit is for bad," but my experience with these entities suggests that this stems more from a bias against "sorcery" - that is, practical magick - than anything inherent in their nature.
Some of this bias may also be due to the fact that a spirit conjured on its own without the influence of the intelligence behaves like a blind force that's hard to control, but the solution there is simply that you never do it. Even when calling on the spirit to perform an specific action, you conjure the intelligence first to provide a measure of control. In a previous series of magical operations with my working group I constructed a series of seven planetary tablets in the Golden Dawn flashing color style incorporating the planetary seal from Agrippa and a collection of names associated with each planetary realm. Such tablets are wonderful implements - they mean that when conjuring the angel, most of your preparation is already done for you. You just put the tablet in the center of your altar, set your talisman on top of it, and you're good to go with the ritual proper.
This rite also incorporates the main magical weapons that I use in my workings, a Tibetan phurba dagger that I use as a banishing implement and a purpleheart wand with an opal at the base and a carnelian at the tip that I use as an invoking wand. In the context of my operant field model, the dagger is used from Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram and the invoking wand is used for the Lesser and Greater Invoking Rituals of the Hexagram, in addition to being employed during the conjuration. In this rite the bell chime is used to mark both the opening of the operant field and the arrival of the angel.
The ritual itself follows. It may be adapted for any of the other seven ancient planets by substituting their seals, employing the appropriate form of the Greater Ritual of the Hexagram, and changing the colors visualized and number of circumambulations to match.
The temple is arranged with an altar in the center. The altar holds the banishing dagger, invoking wand, bell chime, and a cloth to shroud the talisman. In the center of the altar is placed the Venus tablet. The material basis for the talisman is placed on top of the tablet at the start of the rite and remains there throughout.

How would you Have to energy of Chamuel charge the Venu Talisman?

As far as calling on other angels in general for planetary magick goes, the most important thing is to make sure that the angel is actually associated with the planet that you are working. So you could certainly modify this rite to call upon any angel attributed to Venus.
In one of our previous conversations you said that when the charge for charging talisman is given, the spirit should be told to anchor the effects of the ritual into the talisman. But isn't this logical from the start? Like when I conjure a spirit I tell it the reason why I did it before I give the charge. I say that I want the energies to go into the talisman. Then I give the charge in such a way that makes it clear that the spell should be anchored into the talisman. For example: " charge this talisman with the powers of so that IT WILL ACT ON ME in order to , . So mote it be!"
It depends on the type of talisman and how you are using it. For example, with a general-purpose talisman that you just use for summoning, like in the Heptarchial system, you don't want your talisman associated with a specific operation because you want to keep using it and not have to make a new one every time.
"Charge this talisman with power xxx" might very well be sufficient to anchor an effect. I just like to specify it anyway, to make sure that there is no confusion on the part of the spirit. My guess is that your statement there probably works just fine to anchor the effect.

There are some elements that I will add to these operations, one is that definitely if I need something material, I will lower the power to the planetary spirit (if it is practical) I also believe that in the work with Zodiac forces I will use the letter that governs the planet related to the zodiac sign, for me it is quite logical, and this would apply to the elixirs, I want to visualize or connect with the planetary and zodiacal letters and visualize how they descend to the elixir, and this is very important (in this meaning this would be more extensive to talk about)
What do you mean here when you talk about the idea of "lowering the power" to the planetary spirit? You must mean something different than how I read it, because as I see it you need as much power as you can get for practical work.
You can definitely visualize the corresponding letters flowing into the elixir when you charge it. That's a nice way to hold the visualization and keep it going. A similar method is to visualize the light that you're projecting into the cup as consisting of streams of the corresponding symbol for the force you are working with along with the proper color.
I think he means conjuring down the line all the way to the planetary spirit - ie Kedemel.

if at least in my case the power can feel it much closer, and I feel that for some reason it is more forceful, another thing that I have begun to do is to draw the appropriate geometry on the material that is on top of the triangle, for example drawing the Seal of the entity and hexagrams or staves according to the case,the good thing is to have the basic scheme, which works perfectly from there, you can develop a lot ¡¡¡
Nice! You can add a small rendering of the planetary kamea inside the triangle, then place the talisman or elixir on top of that, along with the sigil of the spirit ;)

I have done a banishment of adverse economic conditions, I wanted to try a tarot card, each letter connects, with a deanery a sefira, in this case I have chosen 5 pentacles, the invocacion after the operant field has been direct (I have not done the zodiacal ritual of Taurus) the Forces have been Adonay by the Earth, then before the archangel Asmodel I have invoked mantrically the permutation of Taurus with the tetragrammaton, then I have asked Asmodel to send Mebahiah and Poyel - the angels assigned to the dean of the letter) I was surprised by the power of the ceremony, it was clear the angelic presence, the deep balance and well-being in the Temple. After the visualizations and the kabalistic cross, it is clear that the Forces are going to act on me, in this case the 2 angels follow the GD arrangement, now we have to incorporate forces that improve my situation,sometimes I think that in such important rituals, and that they need internal changes, it would be interesting to take an elixir
@Scott have you ever tried the following: conjure a spirit and instruct it to
a) perform a certain task for you (in a certain amount of time)
And at the same time
b) charge a talisman for that same purpose (knowing it will keep on performing that task long after the time frame set in the ritual is over)
In either case, do you think it's feasible? Will the power of the ritual split between the charge concerning the time frame and the charge concerning the talisman?
I have done a similar thing only once, but there were 2 separate rituals. The first one did something on me. After the time frame was over I made a talisman and charged it with the same spirit for the same intent. It's working marvelously! But I was wondering if a single ritual could do the trick.
I have not personally tried this, but here is what my model would say: If you are conjuring a single spirit and charging it to (A) perform a task within a time limit and (B) charge a talisman for the same outcome, but no time limit, you're working with a single instance of the spirit so the power would most likely be divided.
If you are conjuring multiple spirits, though, each is its own instance. So let's say you want to cast a spell for a job that will make you a lot of money over time. You could call on Sachiel (Jupiter) to get you the job and make a talisman empowered by Michael (Sun) for acquiring wealth.
If you word the charges right, the two should be able to work together as per Gordon White's shoaling method. Then you should get the full power of each spirit, since they have their own separate tasks.

Hi. Dunno why Google insists I use this account, so here it goes? Have you ever tried making a talisman for a certain purpose, and after some time calling on the spirit of that talisman in order to have it end it's mission you had assigned for it, but start a new one on the same talisman? Or adding to the tasks you had previously made the talisman for? Or would you create a new talisman all together?
I'm thinking this could be in order because it's the same spirit after all. It would be similar to calling on, say, the spirits of Jupiter who helped you consecrate the 2nd pentacle of the planet, and instead of asking them to bring you riches, you'd ask them to help you find hidden treasures because you just bought a metal detector. The only difference, of course, that the 2nd pentacle of Jupiter has both those powers, and one would only have to switch between them.

Generally no. It seems like that does not work very well. Sometimes you can re-use the physical object, but you usually have to decommission the first operation, disenchant the object, and then do a completely new ritual to empower it with a new charge.
I'm thinking that this observation probably has something to do with why the grimoires all insist on "virgin parchment."

The formal charge for this ritual would be something like this:
"Anael, by the name YHVH Tzabaoth I charge you to empower this talisman to (do whatever you want it to do)."
Amethyst is more properly related to Jupiter, so you would change that accordingly. But you can use the same form if you want.

I've made three talsimans now using this rital template. Two appear to have worked well but one hasn't. I'm trying to work out what went wrone before I try again. The intent for the successful ones was very simple whereas it was more complex for the one that failed. This is the only difference I can think of. In your experience does the complexity of the task have any bearing on the result? Should I "de-charge" the object before trying again and if so do you recommend a method for this ?
With a more complex charge you need to think through all the possibilities. Magick works the way water does when poured onto an uneven surface - it will take the path of least resistance to satisfy the charge. It has been published in some places that this is because the spirits are "tricky" or trying to take advantage of you, but I personally think it's more like a computer program - if the instructions aren't precise enough, it won't necessarily do what you expect it to.
The other issue is that a greater probability shift might be required to accomplish your more complex charge. There is a limited amount of shift that any operation can do, and if your odds are outside that range it won't work. The usual remedy for this is to take more mundane steps towards your goal so that the odds of it happening are better. For example, with a job spell, if you are in a market where work is scarce you might have to send out more resumes and/or contact more people to get a job even if you also have a spell running to get work.
You probably want to cleanse the object before you re-enchant. If it's stone or metal, soak it for a bit in salt water - that usually does the trick. Something that can't get wet can also be put in a jar full of salt, but you should leave it there longer than if you are using water.
Many years ago I saw a documentary that said that the first computer that started the actual computer technology as we've known it for a few decades was a suitcase-like box with a number of switches and corresponding lights. The switches had to be turned in certain sequences in order to succeed in programming it to do "something".
One of the people who worked on building it sat for hours in front of it carefully turning on switches and such and then someone came along and turned the thing off if I remembered correctly. The initial person was super pissed because he had painstakingly managed to program the computer for a certain task by flipping those switches in whatever sequence he used.
The same thing happens with a complex charge and Scott is right. I would recommend avoid such charges as much as possible and instead performing several separate rituals that would cover the problem from several angles, thus focusing a multiple force in a single direction.
This is why I so far have yet to come across anyone who's made or bought astrological Picatrix-type talismans charged for XYZ (multiple charges) who have had success in a relative short time. While I don't doubt the astrological knowledge of at least one person who makes such talismans, I think their magical knowledge is not up to par yet since they make the same talisman for more than two tasks.
Serious question - do people give formal charges to Picatrix talismans? From what I've seen they're based on astrological elections and call on the general powers of spirits. So if a spirit's power is "brings favors and honors" or something like that, you make the talisman for the spirit with a good election... and that's it. You just hope that the spirit generally "brings favors and honors" which can manifest in a bunch of different ways. Or am I wrong about that?
The ceremonial methods I use rely on very specific charges. I don't just make a talisman to give me this or that energy, or operate within a general sphere of influence. I specify exactly what I want to have happen.
And Alex is right that it may be easier to accomplish something with multiple operations with simple charges than trying to compose a more complex one that covers all the angles. There is more skill involved in crafting a complex charge, and it usually takes some time and effort to get good at it.
I can't say for certain since I haven't actually had the opportunity to talk to any such people about these things. From what I've noticed so far it seems they simply ask for the general thing. I try to avoid it as much as possible even when making something like a decan talisman that covers several different areas.
But I see no difference between Picatrix style talismans and ordinary talismans in terms of the charge. I mean any non-Picatrix planetary talisman can be made using advanced elections, but it would be as unwise to charge it for several powers of that planet instead of just one.
So instead of this talisman Agrippa detailed one can make a simple Venus talisman by adding the symbol and sigils and so on. We know Venus covers love, sex, beauty, friendship, arts, etc. It would be as unwise to make the aforementioned talisman for everything ruled by Venus just as it would be to make the talisman Agrippa described for everything Agrippa mentioned as being its powers:

Incidentally Alex, it wasn't multiple unrelated charges, it was one charge that has different aspects.
Almost every charge requires multiple factors coming together. A charge to find a job for example, requires reading the right thing at the right time to find the right vacancy, to craft an application that will appeal to the application processor who receives it (it may appeal to one but not another), even something like your application not being the 200th application processed 2 minutes before the admin person finishes a long day and goes home - and there are more aspects.
I thought though, in finding a job, the different aspects are somewhat implicit, whereas for this charge I felt that I needed to specify the different aspects.
Knowing when to specify different aspects or just make an overall charge or make multiple talismans is, I think, a skill in itself.
The charge was to aid my academic work doing a Research masters degree in music composition of a specific genre. In addition to the usual academic literature reading and writing, I need to analyse music from this genre on theory AND production levels, compose, arrange, record and produce some music using the data that I find in the analysis. So, one goal requiring multiple skills.
In the end, trying - failing - figuring out what went wrong and trying again is the best teacher.
