Ritual Night Talk for June 8th

Here is the video of Tuesday's Ritual Night Talk, on Cult Versus Culture. The donation link is here.

The main difference between cults and culture in new religious movements is that cults are generally understood to be toxic organizations that exploit their members. These organizations thrive best in an "esoteric" world in which magical and mystical technology are kept secret from anyone deemed "unworthy" - that is, anyone the leader is looking to exploit.

In an "exoteric" world this would be different - a culture that includes magick as part of day-to-day life would mean that anyone who wanted to practice, to whatever degree it might be their will to practice, can do it. One way to implement a culture like that is to present an inspiring vision of the world we want to see, through the arts of whatever sort and demonstrating how we successfully integrate magick into our lives.

Enjoy!
